Andorra is once again hosting the Games of the Small States of Europe 2025, a multi-sport competition bringing together nine European countries with fewer than one million inhabitants. From May 26 to 31, the country will become the main stage of this event, welcoming over 1,000 athletes competing in 19 disciplines, such as athletics, swimming, judo, cycling, beach volleyball, 3×3 basketball, and karate.
Opening Ceremony: culture and excitement at the National Stadium
On May 26, the National Stadium in Andorra la Vella was filled with over 4,000 spectators who enjoyed a ceremony full of symbolism. The show featured:

Andorra shines on the first day of competitions
During the opening day, Andorra delivered an outstanding performance, winning a total of ten medals: five gold and five bronze. Athletes such as Nahuel Carabaña, Pol Moya, and Jess Martin claimed gold in athletics. In swimming, Kevin Teixeira won gold in the 800-meter event, while in karate, Paula González and Maria Ubiergo (only 16 years old) took gold and bronze, respectively.
